Improving Microsoft's authentication rollout templates

Rolling out MFA, SSPR, passkeys, or Windows Hello for Business? Save yourself some time before writing all the user communications from scratch :)

Microsoft publishes Entra end-user rollout templates and materials. The current pack was updated on 6 July 2026 and includes communication and helpdesk resources for several authentication features, including Microsoft Authenticator and Temporary Access Pass.

Pick the materials for the feature you’re actually deploying, then customize:

• Who needs to act and when
• The registration steps and methods your organization allows
• Your branding, support contacts, and internal help links
• What users should do if registration fails or they lose their device

Check the instructions against your tenant configuration before sending. A polished template can still describe a method you haven’t enabled or a registration flow that differs from your rollout.

Give the helpdesk the same version users receive and walk a pilot group through it first. These are useful starting points for communications; you’ll still need to plan the technical deployment and support process.
